Championship weekend was a mixed bag here. My “Pats win, Jags cover” pick was right on target. Heck, I even...
While many bettors were complaining about the Vikings not kicking the extra point on Sunday, I had them at minus-4...
“Saints win, Panthers cover?” Nailed it. The rest of Wildcard Weekend? Not so much.
With the lowest Wildcard Weekend spread being six points, we can be tempted to think it’ll be a boring quartet of games. Can any of the underdogs step up?
This could be a typically weird Week 17, with some teams resting their players. Look for the Eagles, Rams, Chiefs and Jaguars to give players time off to prepare for the playoffs...
Every favorite won straight up in Week 15, except for maybe the Chargers (depending on the line you saw). The season has pretty much followed that script. Should I just pick all favorites from now on and save myself the time of trying to think about … anything?
Lose Carson Wentz, get Aaron Rodgers back. What a weird season we’re having.
While watching NFL RedZone on Sunday, I saw Texans QB Tom Savage throw an interception in the end zone with just over a minute remaining, sealing a 17-13 loss. “Nice job,” I thought to myself. “They covered the spread.”
Favorites have been the way to go this season, with a record of 121-53 (69.5%) straight up and 90-77-7 (53.9%) versus the spread. If I had picked favorites in every game, I’d be in first or second place in the SU standings. But that wouldn’t be any fun, right?
Considering my background as a fantasy sports analyst, it’s nice to see fellow fantasy guys Jamey Eisenberg (CBS Sports) and Jeff Ratcliffe (Pro Football Focus) tied atop the Pickwatch standings after 11 weeks. If I go 16-0 for the next three weeks, I might join them. _Might_.
Through 10 weeks, Jeff Ratcliffe of _Pro Football Focus_ leads the pickwatch standings with a 99-47 record (straight up)
I’m five games under .500 with my ATS picks...
Lots of news in the NFL this week to cover in the picks below. Ezekiel Elliott finally (probably) set to serve his suspension, and some interesting trades
As you’ve probably noticed, Josh Katzowitz and I were brought on to the Pickwatch team to share our weekly picks with you this season.
I’m barely over .500 straight up, and you’re still reading? Thanks for the support, even if your plan is to take my picks and bet the opposite way
I don’t know what’s worse – that I’m only picking 54 percent of games correctly straight up through five weeks, or that such a success rate has me roughly in the middle of the pack in the Pickwatch standings.
I’m glad you were here for my stellar 6-10 record last week. That’s without point spreads, in case you were wondering. Nowhere to go but up, right?
I feel like a genius after posting a 9-7 straight up record in Week 3, since almost half of the crowd was below .500
