I was kind of inspired by NFL Network correspondent Albert Breer the other day to begin work on a section of the site that will become more prevalent in the offseason: Presswatch
Here's my picks for the wild card round of the NFL playoffs
Uh... AWKWARD! So after the good news yesterday about who won the Pickwatch Golden Pick (TM!), now I have to tell you who made a bit of a show of themselves in 2012 and it feels a little bit like telling little Johnny that he's been a bad boy and there are no presents under the tree
Well it's been a long season, but never long enough really is it?
Just thought I'd let people know that I'm not dead and that the final standings are ready to be updated. I have a pretty hefty dose of flu\* that is doing it's very best to stop me eating/sleeping/breathing, but it won't stop me in my never-ending Pickwatch quest
All of the guys had a big week of 11-5 or more last week, which puts the cat amongst the pigeons as far as our overall standings and my - now ruined - spreadsheets
Just in the nick of time, here's who I've got this week. Be careful to watch for rested starters, but don't let it affect your picks too much. Teams are going to the playoffs for a reason
Last week was a busy week for us all so let's not dwell on the fact these results and standings are late, let's instead focus on the good: I had a lovely dinner and got lots of presents
Hello hello hello. No pre-amble banter today, just good old fashioned, salt-of-the-earth picks for week 16
John Dillinger will have to wait, I'm going to get the overall standings out of the way before I do 'real' work.
Ok now... breathe... Jets... Sanchez... too much laughter... Ah that's it
I had thought this week would see a big change in the Pickwatch standings, but going into the last game of the week it's looking like things won't change dramatically
There's still time to take advantage of these spreads if you are that way inclined
NEW FEATURE ALERT. From this week every Sunday I'll be giving you a breakdown of how NFL analysts see each game
Here are my final picks for week 15. I'll be posting some spread tips in the next hour or two that I think are good value.
Time for Thursday's picks. As always, (Thursday game excepted) these picks will change closer to game time depending on injuries so they are more _ruminations_ on the upcoming slate than set in stone picks
I guess you'd call this the business end of the season, which is probably true except that amusingly, NFL teams seem determined to ruin fantasy football playoffs and pick'em leagues around the world by starting players off the street at key positions
A good week for the experts with only one person below .500 out of our panel of 59
Barring a last minute injury, these are my final picks for week 14
Not a good week for betting as the lines are generally very good, but there are a couple of spreads that I don't like the look of
Here's the full standings of every expert
I got some positive feedback on the site yesterday from some of the names mentioned in the top 10, but analysts everywhere love to hear how well they're doing so I'm not going to hold my breath that any of the analysts lurking at the bottom here will be as enthusiastic
It's good that the NFL gives us football all week long, but having a matchup on a Thursday muddies the water as far as picking games
Who'd pick football games eh? Well we would, and so did these guys. Not the best of weeks for our panel of 'experts', but they did their best, and it's not like they're getting paid to... what's that? They're getting PAID for this?
If you really must bet on these games, don't be surprised if things go wrong...
