MLB season is in full swing, and the NBA and NHL Playoffs are now underway.

For most, the Arbitrage opportunities are lucrative. For me, however, I am not able to take advantage of these opportunities as much as I would like.

I am now limited by eight (8!!!) different sportsbooks: Bally Bet, bet365, BetMGM. BetRivers, Desert Diamond, Fanatics Sportsbook, Hard Rock Bet and theScore Bet.

Early on in my Arbitrage bedding journey, I was not truly following the best guidelines for how to make sure you do not get limited. I assumed that since early on I was only betting upwards of $50 on games that I wouldn’t ever get limited I assumed they were only looking for the people that were betting upwards of $500 or more.

I found out pretty quickly that’s not the case. It doesn’t matter if your dollar amounts are small if your dollar amounts are fishy with specific numbers that don’t trigger algorithms and robots that are tracking your bets. You are going to get flagged and eventually restricted.

Almost all of the sports books that have limited me no longer let me bet more than $10 on a game. This is extremely frustrating. Well, it’s not the end of the world since I do still have some books that I can use and even a couple that I have yet to open up accounts with it is still very frustrating.

Arbitrage Betting: 5 Ways to Avoid Getting Limited by Sportsbooks

Here are some Arbitrage betting tips to follow to avoid getting limited by sportsbooks:

1. Deposit Early; Withdraw Sparingly

When you start Arbitrage betting, It’s important right away that you deposit a good amount of money into each sportsbook you plan on using. Additionally, it's important to not start withdrawing for an extended period of time.

I think one of the areas where I made my early mistakes was not doing this, and having too small of an amount in some. I was often withdrawing and depositing money into different sportsbooks, and I think this likely triggered some suspicious activity.

If you’re not immediately withdrawing money, it makes you less of a threat to sportsbooks. If you're withdrawing, then depositing again and eventually withdrawing again quickly, these definitely trigger things within systems that sportsbooks are monitoring.

2. Bet Amounts

As you begin to place Arbitrage bets, it's important to not place bets with random numbers that will give you the best possible Arbitrage profit for each side. Try to round some of your wager amounts to the nearest dollar, and use more normal amounts such as $10, $25, $50, etc.

While this can eliminate the ability to guarantee the same exact profit amount regardless of which side wins, it can help in the long run.

Additionally, try not to bet the max amount, or all that's in your account. These can both be signs that you're looking to profit as much as you can, and may continue to do so.

3. Mix In Other "Normal" Bets

This is especially important early on: make sure you place some normal bets that are not for Abitrage opportunities. This should include a variety of wagers on the main sports leagues that are not in niche markets, like various player props or small foreign leagues.

While this of course can diminish some profits if you lose, it can help you seem like more of a normal bettor.

Some people refer to this method as "Greening" your account, and there are several strategies for this, some of which I've already mentioned. Most sportsbooks make early decisions on whether you're a pro or not. If you start off an account betting systematically, they'll keep a closer eye on you.

4. Stagger Sportsbook Sign-Ups

One tip would be to stagger the sportsbooks that you start using right away you do not have to create an account and add money into all sportsbooks right away. That being said, if you live in a state with limited options like 6 or less, you may as well sign up for all right away.

For me, I still have yet to sign up for three different sports books in Arizona, but will be doing so soon. Once I do sign up for these, I will have more promos to use, and more opportunities to do the Arbitrage betting the right way, and hopefully not get restricted or limited by them.

5. Browse the App or Site

Lastly, another why to help you not get limited by sportsbooks while Arbitrage betting is to try and spend some time at least a few days a week logged into the app or site without betting.

Whether you're just browsing lines, participating in various contests, viewing the latest promotions or boosts, or checking out other various features, this can be a good sign to sportsbooks.
