Houston enters this primetime showdown off their bye and a two-game winning streak, but now face a heavy step-up in class. The Texans’ revamped offensive line has shown signs of life (allowing fewer sacks, better rushing production) after last year’s struggles. Yet, they’ll be without WR Christian Kirk (hamstring) and have other injury questions in secondary and defensive line.

Seattle counters with one of the NFL’s top defenses, allowing a low yards-per-play rate and generating pressure via key pass rushers like OLB Uchenna Nwosu. Their secondary, meanwhile, is getting healthier with CB Riq Woolen cleared from concussion protocol, though Devon Witherspoon and Julian Love remain questionable.

Matchups to watch: texans’ QB C.J. Stroud must avoid turnovers and sustain drives against a Seattle front that excels on third-down and in the red zone. Meanwhile, Seattle’s offense—led by QB Sam Darnold and WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba—will test Houston’s young secondary and push pace in Seattle’s loud home environment.

With a total near 41.5, the expectation leans toward a defensive tilt; turnovers, special teams swings and field position may matter more than pure offense.
