I’m almost two weeks into my Arbitrage betting journey, and I am slowly getting more comfortable with the process, what to look for, and how to be successful.

Regarding the process, I’m finding it’s very important to have a proper setup when you’re hunting for Arbitrage opportunities with the Arbitrage Bet Finder from Pickwatch. For me, this means at least 2 screens: laptop and phone, and ideally a computer monitor (or two) if you have one.

Which screen(s) you use for an Arbitrage tracking tool, and which one(s) you use to toggle through sportsbooks can vary depending on personal preference, but multiple screens is much more efficient and faster compared to just using your phone, or just using your computer.

As I mentioned last week, these lines are moving FAST as sportsbooks adjust their odds. Multiple times over the last couple weeks, I have had a Bet Slip ready, and as I went to other sportsbook to add the Bet Slip there, the lines or odds had already moved.

Additionally, I am starting to see which sports are best for Arbitrage betting — more on that in a bit.

Arbitrage Betting: Best Sports and Leagues

After nearly two weeks, I've learned about how profitable Arbitrage betting can be with various sports and leagues, and which ones are the best. Here are my current Top 5 rankings*:

*NOTE: I have not yet been able to try Arbitrage betting with the MLB, which could very well end up being ranked 1st or 2nd.

1. Basketball (NBA)

The NBA is currently the best league for Arbitrage betting by a wide margin. There are several games every day throughout the season, and this results in well over 100 opportunities each week, many of which have over 4% return rates.

Today alone, there are over 40 NBA Arbitrage opportunities!

Over the last couple weeks, I have mostly been taking advantage of NBA Arbitrage bets, and will continue to do so for the rest of the season.

2. Football (NFL)

While there are certainly some successful NFL bettors, the league is often considered the toughest the league to bet on, as the oddsmakers are simply too sharp. Because of this, it seems the Arbitrage opportunities are limited, typically with 5-10 opportunities available on an average gameday, and a 3% or less return rate on most.

Additionally, once the playoffs start, the opportunities become limited. Even in the regular season, there are typically only 3 gamedays per week, eliminating chances to profit daily.

While I have been able to take advantage of some NFL Arbitrage bets, it hasn't been nearly as profitable as the NBA.

3. Hockey (NHL)

Being a good sport and league for Arbitrage betting is not just about having several games every day. Case in point: the NHL also has games on a daily basis like the NBA, but I’ve found that there simply aren’t many NHL Arbitrage opportunities.

For example, there are 8 games tonight in the NHL, but our Arbitrage Bet Finder is currently identifying only 2 NHL Arbitrage bets. The reason for this is based on a variety of factors, with one of them being the lack of scoring and other statistics producing less variance with odds, lines and overall betting opportunities.

4. NCAA Football

The college football season is now over, but even when bowl season was underway, I saw that Arbitrage opportunities were limited. I'd be curious to see how it would be during the regular season, but with College Player Prop betting outlawed in many states, it's unlikely there will be many Arbitrage bets.

5. NCAA Basketball

As for college basketball, the BetSmart Arbitrage Tracker unfortunately does not currently feature NCAAB bets yet, so this comes in at the end of the rankings. With several games on daily basis, this could potentially be a good league for Arbitrage bets, but the lack of Player Props in many states again becomes an issue.

Using bet365 and Fanatics Sportsbook (where I took advantage of a Profit Boost), I was able to profit $16.49 with just $104.50 wagered across both sportsbooks.
