Hello there, Pickwatch Shaun here to give you a quick run-down of what will be happening this week on the site. This is the last full week before we start our usual Pickwatch routine, tracking the expert picks and helping you to make the best decisions each week.

We have a few things we'll be adding over this week:

Week 1 picks: From tomorrow the 'main' expert picks page will begin to show 2014 week 1 expert picks. At the moment, our 2013 final standings show there, which is great, but of course, we want to know who is picking which way this season.

To that end, from tomorrow a quite big and blank table will show the experts who we track and their week 1 picks. The table will begin to fill up as the various media personalities make their picks. In addition, we'll also be adding a raft of new pundits to our tables, with former players Tony Gonzalez and Bart Scott joining CBS this year and the Sirius XM radio hosts also added to our table.

If you have a suggestion of some experts who we've missed or who aren't already part of our tables, let us know on the forum and we'll add them in. Unlike previous years, adding a new expert is now a 30 second job.

User consensus: We're adding a consensus row to the User Picks table. This will make it easy to quickly see which way your fellow users are picking each game, and how clear the consensus is. Those of you who used the site last year will recognize how useful this feature is.

Against The Spread: A few people have asked and of course, our plan is also to have ATS picks available. The engine we use to calculate expert and user picks can be adjusted to accommodate this. The only thing we're working out is how to deal with the different spreads that experts use to pick.

We'll try to fine tune this aspect of the site over the week. The likelihood is that no experts will even try to pick ATS until this time next week, however we just want to let you know that this is still part of our plans for the season.

Mobile Site: We struggled through the last week to work out how best to display our data on smaller screens. The answer is likely that we will use a 'single-expert' page view to display one expert's picks vertically (as opposed to horizontally as they currently are), and you can then flick through each expert's picks individually.

The reality is that with this much information and over 100+ experts being tracked this year, there's no 'right' way to display the data on a mobile. By doing this, however, you will have a choice. Either use the mobile site to view one expert at a time, or if you prefer the old style of tables, you can 'request the desktop site' on IOS 8 and on Chrome for Android (which all sane humans with an Android should be using for web browsing!).

We want you to have as many options as possible with how the site looks, but we rely on reader feedback to ensure that we adapt our code to suit your needs. Please let us know how it looks on your particular device, or if you're having problems.

Season predictions: We're also still planning to bring you a look at the season predictions of the experts. Knowing the NFL media, these should make an appearance around next weekend, as the preseason storylines evaporate and the lack of any meaningful roster moves during the week allows time to poll writers abut who they think are likely Super Bowl and Divisional winners.

We'll cover those predictions and as I'm sure you know by now, we'll be happy to point out just how wrong some of those paid to offer their expert opinions can be.

This week we'll be very active on the forums, twitter and email responding to user queries. Any problems, just let us know so we can help you guys out.

Adios
