Promoted Content: 2016 Week 4 Free NFL Picks and Week 5 College Football Picks (all against the spread)
When you are looking for informed, well-researched opinions on your football wagers each week who are you going to trust – a journalist writing for some deep south rag newspaper with no accountability and no track record of success or will you turn to a group of the most accomplished, well-vetted professional sports gamblers on the planet working for a company that has been in business since 1971?
Doc’s Sports is an absolute powerhouse in the sports information field. They are like the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers and Alabama Crimson Tide all rolled into one when it comes to picking football winners. Their professional handicappers eat, drink, sleep and breathe football a full 12 months out of the year. So when it comes time for you to follow someone’s advice with your money on some weekend wagers I would recommend going with the guys who make their living and pay their mortgages based on what they do and do not know about betting football.
Look, anybody can have a picks column that they publish on their blog. And anyone can spout off their “Blazing Five Weekend Winners!” over the radio. But the overwhelming majority of mainstream media members that engage in this type of thing are in way over their heads. And there isn’t a single media member that you can point to that has a better track record picking football winners against the spread than the guys at Doc’s Sports. One of their handicappers, Raphael Esparza, was the former Director of the Race and Sportsbook at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas for example. He uncovers information as it relates to the point spread from his network of contacts, from over 12 years of being right in heart of the sports betting capital of the world. That type of knowledge and those kinds of connections can only come one way. It’s called a lot of time and hard work.
Below is a sample of the goods. Here are some free picks for this weekend from some of their top handicappers. Don’t judge them on one play or one week; anybody can get lucky just as anyone can have an off week. But be sure to check back in this space every week and you will start to get an idea of depth and breadth of their knowledge and success when it comes to football betting.
Don’t take my word for it; see for yourself:

Take #132 Cincinnati (-7) over Miami (8:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29 )
The Miami Dolphins just aren't very good. Ryan Tannehill just looks bad. The Bengals have had an extremely tough start to the season having to play at the Jets, at the Steelers, and home to the Broncos. Now they get to stay at home for the second week in a row and take out some frustrations on a Miami team that looked terrible versus the Browns. The Bengals will be able to move the ball at will and should have little difficulty hitting at least the 30-point mark in this game. Look for Andy Dalton and AJ Green to have big games in this Thursday Night matchup. Miami is giving up only 22 points a game, but they are giving up over 400 yards of offense per game. This will haunt them in this matchup as the Bengals have size in the red zone to finish off drives in front of their home fans. Lay the touchdown in this game as the Bengals win by double-figures 34-20.

Take 'Over' 58.0 Rutgers at Ohio State (Noon, Saturday, Oct. 1)
This play is all on the Ohio St. offense, and the Buckeyes will have no trouble scoring on the Rutgers defense. Ohio St had two weeks to prepare for a struggling Rutgers team, and Saturday afternoon I see the Buckeyes scoring around 49 points or more. Rutgers will score 10 points or more, and I see all of their points coming in the second half as the Buckeyes will have their 2nd or even 3rd unit in to close out this game. Rutgers only scored 7 points last week against Iowa, so that does scare me, but again I see Ohio St scoring all the points in this one and the 'Over' is the best bet in this game. Take 'Under' 60.0 Baylor vs. Iowa State (Noon, Saturday, Oct. 1)
Two teams that have been trending to the under will meet when the Baylor Bears hit the road to take on the Iowa St. Cyclones at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, IA on Saturday afternoon. Baylor has posted a 5-2 record in their last seven road games where they faced a team with a losing record at home, and they have that same 5-2 record to the under in their last seven Big 12 games. They have also gone a perfect 5-0 to the under in their last four games following a straight up win, and they have stayed under the total in their last five games versus a team with a losing record dating back to the 2015 season. Iowa St. has been an under team as well in the spot they are in here on Saturday as they have gone 4-1 to the under in their last five games played in the month of October and they have that same 4-1 record to the under in their last five games following a game where they scored 40 points or more. They are also 7-2-1 to the under in their last 10 home games, and they have stayed under the total in 14 of their last 20 games overall. Throw in the fact that these two teams have gone 5-2-1 to the under in their last eight head-to-head meetings, and that's where we'll have our play as our numbers have both teams struggling to put points on the board in Ames on Saturday afternoon.

Take #162 Michigan (-10.5) over Wisconsin (3:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1)
It looks like Wisconsin has played the much tougher schedule between these two teams this year, and there's no doubt that the Badgers have faced a more difficult group of opponents, but that edge isn't nearly as big as it looks, either. Wisconsin already has two strong wins over both LSU and Michigan State, but it seems those victories now has lost some shine considering how poorly those two teams have played so far this year. Wisconsin went into East Lansing last weekend and got an easy 30-6 win over MSU, but they also caught the Spartans fresh off a big win the previous week against Notre Dame. It's not easy for a CFB team to play back-to-back big games like MSU was dealing with last Saturday and it showed. That's the issue at hand here in this game for Wisconsin as they now have to turn around a week later and travel back to Michigan to take on a very good Wolverines team. Michigan has definitely had a favorable schedule to begin their year, but a few of their opponents so far in Colorado and Central Florida have shown to be a lot better than expected in their other games this season, making Michigan's wins over both look more impressive. The Wolverines are getting healthier as they got back arguably their best player last game in All-American cornerback Jourdan Lewis, and it made all the difference in the world to the Wolverines defense as it shut down Penn State. With Lewis back in the secondary, the Michigan defense will now go to elite levels. The biggest difference in this game, though, will be a combination of two things, playing in front of over 110,000+ home fans, which is huge, and also the Wolverines special teams has been exceptionally strong this season. Those two things should be enough to give them a two-touchdown-or-more win here in this one. Take Michigan minus the points over Wisconsin.
Free college football pick from Doc's Sports :
Take #200 Indiana (+7) over Michigan State (8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1)Most experts believed that this would be a rebuilding year for Michigan State, and in two months that will be evident to all. They had fool's gold beating Notre Dame two weeks ago but came crashing down in a big way last Saturday at home against Wisconsin. As we also observed, that win over Notre Dame is not that impressive since the Irish have already lost three times this season. Indiana is coming off a disappointing loss to Wake Forest last week, but expect them to bounce back in a big way this Saturday since this is the opening of Big Ten Conference play. Take 'Over' 46.0 Detroit at Chicago (1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 2)
I came four points from making it four straight winning free picks in the newsletter as Syracuse and Connecticut came up just short of the total! Let's start a new streak this week, and be sure to sign up for my 7-Unit NFL Play on Sunday as I go for winning week No. 5 in a row. In terms of this free play, I absolutely like the 'over' in this matchup and I think the Bears are going to be a dead 'over' team for several weeks. Chicago's defense is a travesty and their secondary is probably the worst in football. That's bad news against a Lions passing game that has three legit weapons and a running game built on big plays in the second level. These two teams played a 37-34 shootout last October and they have gone 'over' in four of the last six meetings with a total of 45.0 or higher. Detroit's defense is not much better. They just got lit up for 34 points by the Packers last week and allowed 35 points to the Colts in Week 1. I thought the Bears offense looked more potent with Brian Hoyer under center as he is far less erratic than loser Jay Cutler. The Bears are allowing nearly 30 points per game this season (27.3 PPG) and the Lions check in 28.3 points allowed each outing. I think that both teams make it into the 20s, and this one will push over late.

Take #275 Kansas City (+5) over Pittsburgh (8:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 2)
This weekend I am going with my College Football Game of the Year on Saturday. This is a rare 8-Unit Play, and I am expecting a windfall on this one game. I have gone 6-2 with my last eight football plays rated 6.0 or higher and I am expecting even more cash this weekend. I also expect Kansas City to win this game outright. The Eagles blew Pittsburgh out last week on the road. This team might not be as good as everyone thinks they are. The Steelers defense has problems, and the Chiefs should be able to keep this game close and low scoring. Kansas City beat Pittsburgh last year, 23-13, and the Chiefs are a solid 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings with the Steelers. Kansas City dominated a very good Jets team 24-3 last week, and this is a team that is very close to being 3-0 on the season. Alex Smith will take care of the ball. And the Chiefs defense and running game will make sure that this one comes down to the final minutes. I have Kansas City winning this one by a field goal. But I will take the points as the Chiefs improve to 6-2 ATS in their last eight on the road.
We hope you enjoy the winners this weekend. Doc’s Sports has a team of staff writers that also publish free pick articles on every single NFL and college game for the entire season.
