Each week in the NFL teams are praised and scolded, experts part with opinions and the public scorn over Twitter. Add a dash of green and red arrows and a drop of hyperbole and what are you left with? The NFL power rankings. Here at Pickwatch, we love to compare and contrast, statisticise (it's not a word, but i'll run with it) and collate, so it stands to reason that every Tuesday we visit our favourite NFL news outlets, collect and mould everything into a well formatted table so you, and I, can scrutinise the numbers. The power.
We calculate average position across 10 (TEN) different sites, positional changes from week to week and show you where your team fared the best and worst (Jacksonville fans, we're looking at you), culminating in the definitive* (and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise**) power rankings for our beloved NFL.

Week 16

Jingle Bills, Jingle Bills, Jingle all the way! Oh what fun it is to ride on an Orton open sleigh!
It's the season of goodwill, cheer and giving, so I believe that is why Father Christmas thought it best to take my mind off another disappointing Vikings loss with a gift-wrapped (with bow) Bills victory over the Packers! No surprise at all then that Buffalo gets bumped a big 3.8 places in this weeks consensus rankings. It's the flip side of the coin for Green Bay, down 3.1.
In other news, it's now personal between me and Schwab after he ruined a chance for a perfect 10 for Chicago, ranked 26th everywhere other than Yahoo! Scrooge-tastic, man.
There was no Music City Miracle for Tennessee this week (although, in reality there actually was. Forward pass, mind) and they stay rooted to the foot of the table. "Suck for Duck" is plastered all over the facility, per sources.
It still remains baffling to me how a potential NFC South division winner isn't ranked higher than 20 (New Orleans), and they still might fluff it! Carolina (22) and Atlanta (25) still have a genuine shot at it. Thanks Santa for Week 17 divisional matchups!
Ten teams went vertical this week while nine were tackled for loss (awful, awful joke). New England stay perfect. The Vikings are still mediocre, but rebuilding.
