Week 4 of the NFL had some thrilling matchups come down to the wire, and nine games were settled by seven points or less. As the first month of the season concludes, we are starting to get a sense of who the true contenders are in the league. We are seeing some of the top players who could be in contention for the MVP.

The Bills might be the best in the league as they are the only remaining undefeated team in the AFC, and in the MVP race, Josh Allen (+110) has the best odds to take home the award in back-to-back seasons. A couple of other former MVPs, including Lamar Jackson (+650) and Patrick Mahomes (+1000), are also in the running, while Justin Herbert (+700) is in the conversation for his first award.

NFL Week 5 Preview

Week 5 features a few matchups that have the potential to be exciting.

It starts on Thursday with an NFC West matchup between the 49ers and Rams, both of which are 3-1. 49ers QB Brock Purdy has been ruled out for this game, so Mac Jones will be under center against a Rams defense that is ranked tenth in points allowed per game (20.3).

Sunday features several notable matchups. The Buccaneers suffered their first loss of the season last week and will attempt to rebound against the Seahawks, who have won three consecutive games. QB Jayden Daniels returns for the Commanders after missing two games due to injury, and they will head to Los Angeles to face the Chargers. The Texans and Ravens are two 2024 playoff teams that have each experienced slow starts at 1-3, with both needing near-perfect play to stay alive this season.

On Monday, we have an important AFC matchup between the 3-1 Jaguars and the 2-2 Chiefs, which could have implications for playoff seeding.
