A new weekly roundup of the main issues affecting QB's around the NFL every Sunday, based on the last-moment NFL reports that are most important to pickers.

Romo No-Go

We said it through the week, but how can you pick Dallas without Romo? You probably can't, as the Brandon Weeden train is liable to come flying off the tracks with enough pressure. Also, I like the Cards even if Romo had started because they're offensively much improved and defensively stout.

The Arizona D will be a sterner test than the Redskins on Monday were for Weeden, and we've got plenty of evidence as to how the 'Red Trifle'* reacts to pressure. He has acute fumbleitis, and also I'm always reminded of a child with mumps when I see him. It's like that helmet is somehow designed for someone with the exact opposite head proportions, but I can't work out if it's too big or too small.

I just know it's not right. Just like picking Dallas today.

* I don't know, he just looks wobbly and a bit off.

Manning vs The Weather 21

Remember when Peyton Manning was an absolute adonis who could throw the ball through 8 brick walls? Nah, ne neither. But he has struggled recently in poor weather, and strong winds + potential rain = not a good combo for Manning. Not saying it's a done deal, but certainly worthwhile paying attention to.

For what it's worth, I picked the Broncos because of their running game and the Patriots abysmal interior run defence. I can't see them stopping Ronnie Hillman, who could put up an absolute Knowshon of a game. Plus Manning knows his strengths and weaknesses better than he once did, and he'll become checkdown Charlie if needs be.

dalton

Dalton gets Green. Again.

Months after getting paid like the second coming of Manning, Andy Dalton will see a large amount of Green again. ONLY THIS TIME IT'S A.J.? RIGHT? BECAUSE... ah whatever, it doesn't matter. Mind you, that joke is still better than Dalton's wooden attempt at handing out free tickets to a diner full of people.

Point is, AJ Green is active today and will have a delightfully easy matchup to start with, playing against the worst secondary in football (TM), the Jags. That guy on the sidelines staring wistfully at Green making another effortles grab over a flailing Jags defender? That'll be Blake Bortles.

Robert Griffin the third string.

No what? We went there? Man that's harsh. Griffin is active today and has strange opponent, the Vikings, who I like at home. They're extraordinarily poor on offence, but they're actually getting good at keeping teams from closing out games. Atlanta and Tampa found that out - do you rate the 'skins better than either of those teams? It's a difficult call.

I've taken the Redskins based on their showing last week, but I don't mind admitting that this one is more based on the lack of Vikings offence. If Teddy Bridgewater goes nuclear, can Washington keep up? Probably. Yes. Because he won't.

That's our brief guide to the last minute QB issues around the league. If any more injuries or bus crashes change things... what's that? the 'skins bus just crashed? Ah man... well anything else happens, check us on twitter.
