I'm not even going to bang on about how amazing week 14 was. I don't remember a day with so many twists and turns in the last decade, but I'm sure you've all absorbed 3rd and 4th hand statistics about how many points Baltimore and Minnesota traded in the last two minutes, or how many fans left the Washington game early, so instead, here's my quick review of the thing that really matters to you: Picking.

First on the agenda, a heads up to let you know that Week 15 begins in just a few short hours, when we archive all of our week 14 information and update the weekly picks page. Just so you know, we often change the title of that particular page to 'Week 15' before we update, so don't panic if you can still see Week 14's information. We like to leave it up there for posterity, before quietly dumping it into the shallow grave that is 'Last Week's Picks'...

'Ice up so... oh. you have.Very well, carry on.'

As you'll already know if you follow us on Twitter, ESPN's KC Joyner (no relation to Kansas City), ProFootballFocus's Gordon McGuinness and USA Today's Tom Pelissero shared the outright win with a frankly improbable 15 wins each. More strangely, they all picked a different team incorrectly, with Dallas and Miami culpable for Joyner and McGuinness, along with Pelissero's slightly off-the-wall Colts pick. If any of those three teams had won, we'd have had our first 16-win 100% week. For now, they'll have to be content with joint ownership of the top individual scores for any picker this year.

As it stands Bleacher Report's Ty Schalter and USA Today's Jarrett Bell continue to own the only 100% scores of 2013 so far, and with a full slate of 16 games (plus the dreaded Week 17 lottery) coming up, the chances of someone joining them are slim.

In the Overall Standings, one of our favorites - and a reliable picker - Joel Beall of FOX came a cropper (what exactly does that mean?) with an 8-ball at the worst possible time. This dropped him from the top 6 down to 39th, easily the biggest fall/plummet of recent months. The reason Beall fell so far is less to do with his 50% score and more to do with the generally outstanding performance by most experts. Indeed, the 'expert consensus' category would have netted you 13 correct games this week after 11 last week. Impressive stuff.

Finally, a word for the Prediction Machine and FOX's John Halpin, who are now tied for the lead (PM wins on a tie breaker) at 69% each. Their consistency is impressive given the length of time both have spent in our top 10 this year. If it is to be one of these two combatants who win Pickwatch this year, we'll have a worthy winner.

In our other categories, Gregg Rosenthal is now the only expert over 60% when picking tight games - see our Clutch Rankings - while Gordon McGuinness's strong showing has seen him rise to the top of our Hot Pickers with a ridiculous 78% correct picks in the last 5 weeks.

Later this week we'll bring you the 'Best Pick Index' previews for every game, and we'll do our best to make sure it is with you by the weekend (and of course, in time for the TNF matchup). I'm sure you'll agree, it's a handy tool for working out exactly who you can trust in this wild world of cads and charlatans. In fact, if you read yesterday's MNF preview, you'll see that we used the BPI to correctly take Chicago over the Cowboys. Oh and well, you know... THAT defence...

As always, follow us on twitter or send us an email if you have any queries or suggestions, and be sure to check back later today for Week 15's picks rolling on in.
